Mami was appointed the first substantive Registrar/CEO of Health Records Officers’ Registration Board of Nigeria from 2012-2021 upon his voluntary retirement as Head, Health Records Department, Plant Clinic from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPCL) in 2012. During his tenure, he played a vital role in enhancing Health Records management practices across the country. He was also instrumental to the establishment of the five zonal offices to improve the quality and standard of Health Records and Information Management in the country’s healthcare industry.
He is a fellow of the prestigious Association of Health Records and Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria (AHRIMPN) besides being a Fellow of Institute HealthCare Management Nigeria (IHM)
